TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE

The Missouri Department of Conservation developed and maintains the Natural Heritage Review Website (website) to assist with providing information to help projects avoid and minimize potential impacts to sensitive fish and wildlife resources.  By using the website, you acknowledge you have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions of Use. The Missouri Department of Conservation reserves the right to change, modify, alter or remove portions of these terms at any time. If changes are made to these Terms and Conditions, you will be required to review and accept those changes prior to login.

This website contains proprietary data on species and natural communities of conservation concern for the purposes of project review, assessment, and project planning, including screening for potential impacts to sensitive natural heritage resources. By indicating your agreement to the Terms and Conditions of Use, you agree that you or your organization will not reproduce, distribute nor release any information from the website in any format or spatial resolution, by use of the internet or any other form of disclosure or release, without prior written consent from the Missouri Department of Conservation.     

Because some rare species are subject to poaching or other forms of exploitation, locational information is sensitive. If a project review identifies records of species of conservation concern occurring within the project footprint or in adjacent areas, the response directs the applicant to contact the Department of Conservation and/or the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service directly for additional information. 

If you submit a project for review, the proposed project boundary is based on the project area that you submit. If the project area, location, or type of project changes, the project should be resubmitted if you wish to receive updated information for the revised project. If additional project information becomes available, the project review may need to be repeated for updated information.

The website and the information it is based on is dynamic; species records are added, deleted, and changed as new information becomes available.  You agree that you must evaluate and bear all risks associated with the use of the website, including those risks associated with reliance on the accuracy, thoroughness, or utility of the content.
